The course offers amazing opportunities linked with uniformed Public Services – from riot training with the police, fire and rescue days, activities linking with the armed forces, outdoor and adventurous activities (OAA).
We work towards promoting respectful, active citizens through additional duties and participation in all formal college events.
All learners will study the following units:

Participation in National Citizen Service (NCS) in the first year for 16-17 year olds (subject to approval)
Examples of enrichment trips include; police riot training, paintball, outdoor and adventurous activities, boot camp, search and rescue dog unit and guest speakers from a range of local uniformed public services.
Progression and Employment Opportunities
After completion of this course you may continue with your education and study for a degree in many subjects such as; Criminology, Sociology, Public Services, Police Studies, Outdoor Leadership, Sport Science and Forensic Science, or you may choose to apply for a Public Services career after leaving college.

Maths and English – Take it Seriously!
At Chelmsford College we are dedicated to helping all our learners achieve their ambitions and we acknowledge that in order to do well, some of our learners may need extra support in maths and/or English. Please note that individual Level 2 literacy and numeracy may not be equivalent to a full GCSE qualification.
We provide specialist teaching as a compulsory part of the study programme for all learners who have not achieved a grade 4 at GCSE in these subjects and we all take maths and English seriously.
