An Apprenticeship Fair has been organised by CELS, the Chelmsford Education Learn-ing and Skills group. The Apprenticeship Fair will be hosted by Anglia Ruskin University on Tuesday 7 March from 15:30 to 19:30.
The event is part of a national series of events to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Na-tional Apprenticeship Week – a week designed to raise awareness of apprenticeships and showcase the very best on offer.
The CELS group is made up of a variety of providers and stakeholders including ACL (Adult Community Learning), Anglia Ruskin University, Chelmsford City Council, Essex County Council, Job Centre Plus and Chelmsford College. These organisations work together to help promote education and opportunities within mid Essex.
Over 20 employers and training providers will have exhibition stands and will be on hand ready to discuss all aspects of apprenticeships and share their job vacancies. Everything from how much you could earn, how to apply, which kind of skills are needed to progres-sion opportunities available can be answered on the day.
Employers include Kiddi Caru, Babington, Kare Plus, Raynor Foods, IFDS, Allied Healthcare and Cruise and Maritime Voyages Ltd.
Sarah Hamilton, Chair of CELS and Director of Business Services and responsible for apprenticeship recruitment at Chelmsford College says: "This kind of event is brilliant for boosting awareness of training opportunities such as apprenticeships within our local ar-ea. We average 80 job vacancies a month on our website, but not everyone is aware of what modern apprenticeships can offer, where to find the jobs or how to apply."
