It’s more than just a holiday!
Our Travel and Tourism students presented a mini World Travel market at the recent Information Evening at Chelmsford College. Using the skills and knowledge they gained at their recent work experience at London’s ExCel World Travel Market – they produced and presented both Long Haul and UK destinations.
The new courses, starting this September, give students in Travel and Tourism not only the solid academic foundation required but also the training and skill building needed for employability across the sector. The stereotypical jobs in the sector are ‘holiday reps’ and ‘cabin crew’ but the Employer Engagement programme offers students real experience and showcases the wider scope of career opportunities. Course Leader, Rebecca Tovey believes that the programme not only motivates her learners and achieves high course success rates but "it gives my students a real insight into the marketing, customer service and employment opportunities of the sector at the same time as having a lot of fun".
